Why do authors get rejection letters from publishers?
Thursday, November 12th, 2009Seeing “no” in a rejection letter never feels great but understanding the reasons may help. Publishers say no for a number of reasons. Some of these may have nothing to do with the material submitted. Let’s review the possible answers you may get from most any publisher.
Keep your head in the game
Monday, November 2nd, 2009One guy, the quarterback, never loses sight of the sidelines after the play is over. Even if sacked, once the play is over he is preparing for the next play. His reads the signal from the sidelines and then gets the attention of his players, informing them of the next play either in the huddle, by signals, or audible commands. The quarterback must focus the attention of every player, the ones who did their job as well as the ones who did not on the last play.

Move over Mr. Rogers!
Saturday, August 15th, 2009Like us, most publishers have mothballed their flocking machine (a press designed to adhere glue and yellow fuzz to paper to create flannelgraph) and moved on to other means of communicating the gospel. I realize some of you miss the hours of cutting those paper figures out and putting them in sequential order for the lesson. From flocking to film and from cardigans to DVDs, people of every age take in information differently from the way we did even a decade ago.
How will my kids do?
Friday, July 10th, 2009If my Father wants them in His house who am I to say, “Do you know who you are associating with?” I believe our heavenly Father expects us to get along with fellow believers. If we are going to share heaven with people who are very different from us, how then can we not want to play well together?

There are times you have dead weight in the organization. One must analyze what is encumbering progress and get rid of it. Twenty-one people have joined together to get rid of the extra weight that was pulling down everyone.
These guys are good!
Wednesday, June 24th, 2009I saw a set of these yesterday and my mind went immediately to the team that we have at Randall House. These ladies and men are some of the very best you will find anywhere. So as you watch these clips, realize that you too were picked for a team and that we all strive to do amazing things for God. Work hard to be one that is picked to do your job. That is job security.

The Randall House Biggest Loser – weight loss
Wednesday, May 20th, 2009The group lost Forty-eight and a half pounds. Twenty-one are participating and sixteen weighed in yesterday (Others out on vacation or traveling) for average loss of three pounds a person. The biggest loser yesterday lost eight pounds. I lost five and a half.
We are awarding prizes for daily water consumption, weekly exercise, and the weight that is lost. Randall House has been blessed not to have to face any layoffs because of the current economic climate, so we are looking to layoff the equivalent of one person by July 14 our first benchmark and the equivalent of two people by the week of the D6 Conference.
